London Street Gallery - Opening Night

Recently we attended an opening of a new gallery in Derry. The gallery, for the first couple of months was exhibiting pieces which were entered into the Off the Cuff fashion show which also took place in Derry. Anna had entered her own jumpsuit in this fashion show so it was interesting to see it exhibited in a gallery.

You can read more about how Anna made her jumpsuit on her other blog where she features a lot of her college work (http://annaduffydesigns.wordpress.com/)

It was great to see also some of the other pieces that were entered into the Off the Cuff fashion show. Everyones work was unique and they took a different approach to the given project.

This was made from broken bits of glass

This was made completely from paper!

This won 'Best Accessory' at the show

This piece won 'Best in Show'

Also at the gallery where different pieces from professional artists. The work was so creative and out of the ordinary. A particular one that stood out was an artist, Bernie Murphy, who made collars completely from zips. We thought this was so unique and the finished product looked so well!

There was also collars made by artist Anne Patterson who created individual collars, which a lot were very wearable and detailed. Her attention to detail is what made her work so eyecatching.

Just a little bit on what we wore to the exhibition.

OOTD

Just a quick post on my outfit for the day ♥

White shirt - Primark
Orange blazer - Primark
Patterned shorts - River Island

I bought these shorts last summer and I have been in love with them since! I find them so easy to wear either during the day or even a night out. Even though the colours and pattern are quite strong it is so easy to match them with different items in my wardrobe!

Chelsea Love

Spotted this type of post on a few other blogs and thought I would share who I consider as my 'Style Hero'

Millie Mackintosh

Millie is part of the reality television series 'Made in Chelsea' but she is also a makeup artist, stylist and fellow blogger! I follow Millie's blog and keep up to date with her style diaries that she regularly posts. I admire her love for the highstreet, that she keeps a lot of her looks affordable.

Colour My Wardrobe

So I thought it was time I updated my wardrobe for the summer seasons. I am a fan of my darker shades especially for nights out so I thought it was time to add a splash of colour to the mix!
First thing I bought was a monochrome skirt from River Island which I fell in love with once I seen it! Monochrome is very in an the minute, I had tried the shorts recently brought out in the Rihanna collection but I am not really one for shorts so I was delighted to find this skirt! I found it to be quite dull with a black top so I bought the coral crop top to go with it it but I am on the search for a cobalt blue top because I think it would be ideal!
I also bought a printed dress from River Island in a denim-like and black colour. It has quite a light material and nips in perfectly at the waist with a small capped sleeve. I love the print of this dress it is very detailed and sits perfectly.
The next outfit is entirely from Topshop which is one of my favourite places to shop! I got this muted purple skater skirt which is perfect to wear day or night with the versatile colour and light weight material. I chose two tops to wear with this skirt for the summer season. Both are floral print, one is a more fitted bralet style and the other is a light loosely cut top with a few buttons down the centre. The cut out detail at the back is my favourite detail on this item. There is a selection of colour throughout each top with splashes of purple to tie in with the skirt but this also makes it very easy to match with various items in my wardrobe!
The last item I bought is possibly my favourite item of all my purchases! This was a very reasonably priced dress from Miss Selfridge. This is floral print long fitted dress and I wore this item with a pair of orange wedges and also added some orange lipstick to carry some colour through as the colours are quite pale.
That's all my new items, so I look forward to wearing these very soon!
