Summer Shades - Nails

Summer is the main time for bright colours. There is so much more variety of colour at this time of year and one thing we love is bright nail polishes! There is such selection which fluorescent shades, pastel, etc. Here is just a few of the colours we are loving at the minute

Gosh 'Lavender Love'

Rimmel 'Tangy Tangerine'

Models Own 'Banana Split'

Gosh 'Miss Minty'

Gosh 'Wild Lilac'

Kelly Brook collection at New Look (seem to have misplaced
the sticker with colour name, oops...)

Essie 'Butler Please'

That is just a few of the shades we have been loving. We will hopefully be adding to these as the summer goes on.
We are planning on doing a similar post to show our favourite summer shades in lipsticks so look out for that over the next few days!

Colour My Wardrobe

So I thought it was time I updated my wardrobe for the summer seasons. I am a fan of my darker shades especially for nights out so I thought it was time to add a splash of colour to the mix!
First thing I bought was a monochrome skirt from River Island which I fell in love with once I seen it! Monochrome is very in an the minute, I had tried the shorts recently brought out in the Rihanna collection but I am not really one for shorts so I was delighted to find this skirt! I found it to be quite dull with a black top so I bought the coral crop top to go with it it but I am on the search for a cobalt blue top because I think it would be ideal!
I also bought a printed dress from River Island in a denim-like and black colour. It has quite a light material and nips in perfectly at the waist with a small capped sleeve. I love the print of this dress it is very detailed and sits perfectly.
The next outfit is entirely from Topshop which is one of my favourite places to shop! I got this muted purple skater skirt which is perfect to wear day or night with the versatile colour and light weight material. I chose two tops to wear with this skirt for the summer season. Both are floral print, one is a more fitted bralet style and the other is a light loosely cut top with a few buttons down the centre. The cut out detail at the back is my favourite detail on this item. There is a selection of colour throughout each top with splashes of purple to tie in with the skirt but this also makes it very easy to match with various items in my wardrobe!
The last item I bought is possibly my favourite item of all my purchases! This was a very reasonably priced dress from Miss Selfridge. This is floral print long fitted dress and I wore this item with a pair of orange wedges and also added some orange lipstick to carry some colour through as the colours are quite pale.
That's all my new items, so I look forward to wearing these very soon!

Something New

So recently I went on a small shopping spree. Most trips to topshop involve buying clothes so I was interested in trying there makeup range. It has been around for quite awhile but I have never actually tried it.
I was very interested in their range of lipsticks as the bright colours are very suited for summertime! I'm usually one for sticking to what I know so when it comes to lips I stick with red but this time I went for a more orange toned which is quite a change. I love how pigmented the colours are! I also tried one of there lip crayons in the colour 'suspect' which is like a berry red. It's perfect for a more matte finish but also suited if you prefer a darker lip at this time of year.
Topshop have one of the best range of nail polishes I have seen! They seem to have every shade and are also very reasonably priced! I went for two purple colours this time. Out of the two I bought I really loved the colour 'velvet underground' which is a very dark purple colour.
While out shopping I also picked up a book 'The perks of being a wallflower' The movie was only released recently and I really wanted to go see it. I thought however that it would be a better idea to read the book before watching the film. I used to be a serious bookworm but honestly haven't read a book in years so this is going to be a challenge in itself but I will keep you updated!

Curious About Candles

Hey there,
the boredom got the better of us so we decided to get creative and make a few candles.. We love colourful and scented candles so we thought why not melt down old ones to make new ones ! we melted down a few unscented candles, added fragranced oils such as lemongrass and lavender just to add a little something extra. We added wax crayons to add abit of colour then put them into quirky little jars. Thought they looked a little bland so we added lace and ribbon just to give it that finished look. Totally happy with the outcome, our first attempt went so well!
