Castle Trails

Living around the countryside can have its ups and downs. The downfall is not having easy access to city life but a definite upside is how easy it is to pass the time (without spending!) and some of the pretty sites you can discover!
We recently heard about this apparent 'castle' not far from home and made it our mission one Sunday afternoon to go and explore! We like to think of it as a proper little adventure, climbing through trees and trekking across the little rivers so it was definitely a good idea to wear wellies! It took us a bit less than an hour to find the castle but it was complete worthwhile. We definitely enjoyed even the journey to it! Here are a few of the pictures we took on the way

The castle itself was amazing! We were happy, and kinda surprised we actually found it, and it was genuinely unreal! So much of it was still standing and some of the original stone work detail around the front door, the wooden support beams and the mosaic tiles were all still remaining! The grounds surrounding the castle was huge, we got to see some of the old barns and farmland and also the stone wall which surrounded the grounds was still standing. These are a few more pictures of the castle itself and the grounds surrounding.

Entrance to the castle

The tiles which could of been part of the original foyer

Wooden beam support in the arch

Stone markings surrounding the doorway from the outside

Some pictures we took of the outside of the castle

And some pictures from the inside

The chimney which had completely fallen in

A lower ground, possibly a basement

Archway

Rounded wall

Brick work

Pictures from the grounds around the castle

A nearby tree which had been struck by lightning

We were so glad we actually went to see the castle and thought it really was amazing to see and we enjoyed the day loads

OOTD

Just a quick post on my outfit for the day ♥

White shirt - Primark
Orange blazer - Primark
Patterned shorts - River Island

I bought these shorts last summer and I have been in love with them since! I find them so easy to wear either during the day or even a night out. Even though the colours and pattern are quite strong it is so easy to match them with different items in my wardrobe!

Chelsea Love

Spotted this type of post on a few other blogs and thought I would share who I consider as my 'Style Hero'

Millie Mackintosh

Millie is part of the reality television series 'Made in Chelsea' but she is also a makeup artist, stylist and fellow blogger! I follow Millie's blog and keep up to date with her style diaries that she regularly posts. I admire her love for the highstreet, that she keeps a lot of her looks affordable.

Only online

Went on a small shop online there last week. I was looking at boots in missguided, river island and boohoo. I really loved a pair of leather ones that had abit of a chunky heel. Sadly when I went to buy them there was none in my size(6), I searched everywhere for something similar and there was nothing left in size 6. Just for curiosity I visited a site called fashion union, there was a fabulous pair on sale but again not in my size so I decided to risk it and I bought them for £20 at size 7. Risk totally paid off they fit. love them!

When looking at fashion union I spotted a bold, lettered print shirt for £25. I love it its really bold and quirky ! When it arrived I tried it on and it was huge ? I duno what happened but I discovered it was a size 14. I didn't bother returning it because I quite liked the slouchy-ness of it all.

I had been in River Island recently and spotted this gorgeous woven blazer. I loved the colours and the material but left the shop without it. Curiosity got the better of me so I went online to check it out, it was there in my size at £40. I literally thought fuck it so I bought it.. Sure why not ? So glad I did I'm in love with it ! It's perfect with skinny jeans and a plain top it has so much detail you don't need anything else !
